I have volunteered to drive up to McConnellsburg elementary school on Tuesday, May 21 at 8:30 am to set up a glider and give a kids talk about hanggliding. When approached by a McConnellsburg teacher a couple of weeks ago, I volunteered since I thought it would be good PR with the town, etc.
If anybody has any hanggliding promo literature, or cool DVD burn of flying at the Pulpit; it would be greatly appreciated if you could either mail it the stuff to me and/or bring it up to the fly-in. Apparently the teacher and the town were not really aware we were flying over their town. Go figure. LOL. She contacted me quite by chance....since I was the closest school to them.
The elementary school is having a field day for the kids and the theme is "Flight". How could we not attend.......given the fact we've been flying over their heads for decades?
So....any stuff that could be given out to the kids would be appreciated. Brochures...buttons....stickers? Didn't we have a bunch of that stuff at one time?
Thanks!

I'll rummage through what I have, but I think fun supplies are low. I know we have brochures, but I think we're out of buttons/stickers.

USHGPA should be able to get some stuff out to you. Thanks for promoting the cause!

My first thought also From Google it looks like there's a decent ball field out back. Looks like it's about 1.5 times the distance to the HG primary, so could be doable even on a meager day.

Richard,
Craig has set up a glider and a small knee hanger harness at the DC kite festival for years. Strap the kid in, hold onto the front wires and shake it around a little and they are flying! It's been a huge success every time. It's a lot more fun than a button!
