...I broke my back last year. The video is somewhat infamous. Whatever.
Thought I'd post up a link to my first mountain flight since last year. I flew a few times towing, but it's just not the same. I still have plenty to learn, but I'm not giving up.

Enjoy.

Re: First Mountain Flight Since...
Congrats on getting back in the air! Looks like a sweet site!
I got some spring air turbulence yesterday that had me working hard to keep my wing overhead, but it was great practice. I'm getting quicker at making small corrections sooner to stay balanced, but damn my neck is sore from looking at my wing the whole time. Kiting in strong wind could help me build more feel, but I never make the time to do it.

It really is a great site. the hike up is pretty killer, though. It's nice on days when the Pulpit is crowded, though, since it has the same orientation.
And yeah, as the comment on the video says, I still need to work on my technique. Looking at the movies helps me highlight my inadequacies and try and correct them on my next flight. Steadily checking the surge after letting the glider recover > lightly pumping the breaks to check the surge. Still learning, and hoping other people can still learn from my poor form. The more constructive criticism, the better! (up to a point, anyhow, haha.)

Re: First Mountain Flight Since...
Welcome back! Looked good to me and a good glide across the water for landing to boot. And did the wing pack itself after landing? It looked like it.

Congrats on getting back into the air! Coming back from an injury like that, and staying motivated/positive about flying, is a tall order... But it looks like you have the desire, so kudos to you! Really enjoyed the video and your approach over the lake.
