This off-topic (OT) post is directed to anyone who has registered in the CHGPA forums, but hasn't heard anything back, and hence can't login, post messages, etc. If that's you, then read on....
For the past month or so, we've been hit by 20 or more automated bogus/spammer forum registrations per day. The forum's anti-spambot measures were 'solved', and unfortunately this means that legitimate registrations were buried in noise. I've been trying to intercept the "real" registrations, but a combination of issues (travel; work crunch; hard-drive crash; family stuff; you-name-it) put me behind in a major way, at just the wrong time.
We've now got a new anti-spambot measure in place, and things have improved a bit (until the b@stards figure it out). As of tonight, I think I've caught up on the outstanding "real" forum registrations, with a quick email sent out in each case, asking for a confirmation that s/he is a real person.
However! I almost certainly missed some legit registrations during the spambot storm. So if you are reading this, and have *not* heard back about your registration attempt, please send an email to me directly:
webdev@chgpa.org
And I'll get you set up. Apologies for the inconvenience; this has been the worst spambot storm since the forums went live....
