I arrived at launch around 5:40 pm. Laszlo was already in the air, approximately 800 ft. over. There was a nice 8 to 10 mph breeze coming straight in. Needless to say I quickly laid out the glider and launched. I boated around for 1:15 between 500 and 800 over. Laszlo maxed out at 1800 over. Hugh arrived and launched around 6:30 pm. It was great to have Hugh back in the air at Daniels. The air had mild texture to it but was very enjoyable. It was interesting, a venture set up over the saddle east of launch. The increased airspeed made for speed bar practice in that area. I am much more sensitive to the speed of the air around me in my pg than in my hg, due to the lower top end airspeed. A great way to end a Tuesday. We all hiked back up the hill to retrieve the vehicles. Welcome back Hugh!

When I got my car and drove down to pick up my gear around 8 pm, Hugh pointed to a bull at the LZ where we landed 45 minutes ago (the primary). Indeed, there was a big black cow-like creature standing about 20 yards from the gate, with some notable differences compared to the standard look of a cow. I don't know whether this animal is going to be a permanent feature of the primary LZ or not. If yes, we better land on the other side of the road (which is already the preferred LZ for a number of HG pilots).
