Woodstock: Wednesday evening. April 3rd

Post by jyoder111 »

I'll be staying over in Winchester this week after class on Wednesday and am thinking of bringing my HG along. Anyone want to fly Woodstock on Wednesday evening? Sunset is at 7:38pm. I can be at launch by 6pm. Looks like nice evening conditions at the moment.

Jesse,
The wind speed has come down so it might work for PGers. I will have my glider with me tomorrow at work and I will head to WS and hike up for a 6PM launch Based on tomorrow's forecast. I will post by 2PM with my plans.

Thanks,
Jim

I might try Woodstock Wednesday. It will be a bit cold but very flyable. I am hoping Thursday turns out to be a good Dickey's Ridge day and will give it a go if the forecast look reasonable on Thursday.

Note that Tom C. said the road to the Woodstock launch was opened last Friday.

Thanks,

So at this point I'm planning to take my glider along tomorrow. I hope to be at launch a little before 6pm. Forecast is looking good on NOAA for late PM conditions PG and HG. Hopefully someone else will be there too, I don't want to fly alone

Based on this morning's forecast, it looks like it'll be strong till pretty late in the day. Kind of an odd curve. With forecasts for gusts to 30 till 4-5pm, I'm going to forego this one and leave my glider at home.

I am going to skip it also. It is too strong for PGs.
