Now looks like it may be NW Saturday at 10 MPH. Jesse and I are thinking Pulpit if it holds. Bacil

Looks like the WX is shaping up for the Pulpit on Saturday. Might be some texture to the spring air? Count me in.

I'd be in for Pulpit on Saturday. I'm an H3, but it'll be my first time there, so if any of you are willing to give me a site intro there, it would be much appreciated. Let me know.

Thanks,
Peter

Wind barbs are now showing NW 15-20 for Saturday... a far cry from the North at 5 forecast a couple of days ago.

It might even be a Woodstock day!

I'd prefer the Pulpit for a biwingwal day. But my gut is telling me it's gonna be blasting there and we'll end up driving back to High Rock.

Will make up my mind on Saturday morning.

I'm seeing W at 12 (XC Skies) for the Pulpit on Saturday. Not sure what y'all are looking at for winds.

While the forecast for the Pulpit tomorrow has increased a bit to 10-15mph midday, it is still a nice curve with lighter winds in the morning and later PM. Also, the nostepper forecast for winds aloft indicates it shouldn't be much stronger up above. I'm still leaning towards the Pulpit over Woodstock. It looks like it could be big air in the midday, and really nice after 3pm till sundown. What do you all think?

I'm still leaning towards High Rock--- it might be a make up your mind when you drive by the flags at Frederick day.

Anyone in Arlington or DC want to carpool to the Pulpit tomorrow? My roof rack can fit another ladder if you have one, or we can take your vehicle. Save on gas and emissions...

I am on the fence about where to go. Some forecasts for the Pulpit and High Rock look on the strong side to me. It also looks on the light side at Woodstock. With luck, the forecasts will be favor one site more strongly tomorrow morning. I hope to fly somewhere.

I'll be at the Pulpit probably around 2:30ish. Yes I know it's going to be strong, and possibly blown out. Tell me something I don't know  . Looking for a nice evening throttledown flight. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Not a big deal. Another opportunity to take a data point: forecast vs. actual conditions, site, time of year, etc. Bacil

I'm in for either of the sites, I'd preffer High Rock, then Pulpit...then Woodstock (matte of distance, I've had a looong week and wish to travel less :-) )
But then, I don't care where, I just want to have a nice day.
I'll probably go to Highland on Sunday too, hopefully it'll be the perfect flying weekend :P

Pulpit later PM forecast for today has increased slightly. What do you all think? Heard that the windspeed on launch wasn't as high as forecasted yesterday at Woodstock, so maybe today will be similar at the Pulpit. On the other hand, High Rock forecast is actually stronger than Pulpit right now by a few mph. Hmmmm.

Looks good to me at the Pulpit. Woodstock might be too light today... Where are we going. I vote Pulpit. What are y'all thinking?

I'm getting ready, will go to where everybody else thinks its best. High Rock would be great, I still do need an observer there though so that will count in my decision making.
Looking forward to a good day wherever we end up

Why High Rock over Pulpit, Matthew? I'd think stronger winds would make High Rock unflyable before Pulpit due to windy cliff launch safety concerns. Just curious...

I'm planning to ride up to Smithsburg with Knut in a few minutes. He's testing out a new hang strap and then we'll head to the mountains in the early afternoon. If someone could give us a call when there's a consensus on where everybody's going, that'd be great!!

Looks like 15 mph plus at HR and the Pulpit by 2:00 pm. Only a slight window of opportunity after 5:00pm if it backs down. Maybe have pilots at both places reporting conditions, and then a mad scramble at 4:00 pm to the best place?

At least Woodstock looks flyable, but maybe not soarable. If I were closer, WS would be my first choice. I can already imagine the flight reports from WS pilots tomorrow how great it was, while we get skunked again. Hope I am wrong.

Winds are always stronger at the Pulpit than forecast.

I've been to the Pulpit too many times in the spring (and fall) when it's cold with a 10-15 forecast and watched it ramp up to 25-30 at launch... and then we all drive over to High Rock and it's great there.
