Finally, a great-looking day for the training hill!

I'll be there for sure if that forecast holds up!

Wow! Seems like I've been trying to get out for a good training-hill day for two months.... Finally, today, it happened, with decent temps, a gorgeous sunny sky, and winds that cooperated for much of the day.

Three students of John's were there: Eric, Trevor, and Anthony. All of them are looking really solid, flying from the top of the hill and working on spots, after a few practice runs at the bottom. Good to see a cadre of students all doing well at the same time! Great vibe, you can really feel the synergy, ya know?

Oh, and John? Out there on crutches last weekend (and today of course), five weeks after surgery? He is IRONMAN!!!!

Winds were a mixed bag : Some cross-W early, some OTB when thermals were blowing through, and then gradually going S, increasing, as the afternoon progressed. I flew and hauled that d@mn U2 back up the hill eight times, trying not to be envious of the Falcon 3/4's

No crappy flights, and I gradually dialed back into Taylor. Not sure what the spot-landing target was, but I aimed to land in the middle of a triangle formed by three streamers, pulling that off for my last two flights. Felt darn good, glad I went!
