Flying in the snow Sun03Feb?

Post by markc »

What's with all the gloom-and-doom about the wind direction for Sunday?

Current Pulpit NWS text forecast:
SUNDAY
CLOUDY. LIGHT SNOW LIKELY...MAINLY IN THE AFTERNOON. SNOW
ACCUMULATION AROUND AN INCH POSSIBLE. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 20S. WEST
WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. CHANCE OF SNOW 70 PERCENT.
And the hourly is calling light NW at 11am, then W to a hair south-of-W through 3pm,
and then NW@15 by 5:30pm as stronger stuff moves in.

Could be a fun time if there are flurries : Not often that we get a chance to
fly in the snow! :-)

Now granted, it's definitely an increasing forecast, and it could get blown out.
But the 3k is currently claiming that it will still be pretty light at 1pm, so there might
just be a window, given an early start.

Maybe just too cold & cloudy for people to get into it?

MarkC

PS: And maybe the direction that's forecast for the Smithsburg area will improve?
If that happens, I would also consider a training hill day.

Sure, wind direction looks WSW 3P to 5P-, then W after that. That's the fcst. I got a game to watch. Hope it works for whomever goes. Good luck. Bacil
