Interesting video reminding me of the gliders we were flying around then mostly with flat battens and the harnesses of the time. Also, I noticed a couple of double surface gliders which were just starting to be produced.

Some entertaining landings there. Did those early gliders just not flare like they do today, or was the technique not standardized yet?

what was the pilot survival rate at the time? I never saw so many hang glider incidents.
