Taylor Farm - Saturday the 8th

Post by jyoder111 »

Anyone interested in heading to Taylors tomorrow for some training hill practice. Looks too light for Daniels.

You don't want to do two light Daniel's days in a week? I'm not going either.

BTW, I found a tipwand in the back seat of my vehicle. Yours? Mine? Felix or Gregg's?

That's my tip wand. It's my old one that's starting to crack. Feel free to chuck it.

John M. is planning on teaching at Taylors tomorrow so I'm planning on going for some exercise.

I might be able to convince myself to head to Taylor's for some practice launches
if the forecast is still looking good tomorrow AM. Oh, what fun!

'Fraid I'm out. Hosting family for Christmas, and my task list is a bit too long to be able to get out today. Hopefully there will be other SW & warm days that are good for the t-hill this winter.

Very pleasant day at Taylors. Here's to spending December days outside in shorts and t-shirt! John Middleton's class of students were nailing nice flights from the top of the hill. Cragin showed up too.

I got six flights in. Good to feel dialed in to the new glider. Turns out the Sport 2 isn't so heavy after all :P

I returned to Taylor Farm on Saturday the 8th, once more to join John M. and his students for a day in the sunshine. It was still gray and overcast when we arrived, the grass still damp. However, by early afternoon the sun had come out, the grass dried off, and the wind was a nice mild southwest coming up the hill with a bit of south cross. Jesse Y. was also there, getting in six flights on his Sport 2. John had four students,: Walt, Eric, Trevor, and Curtis. When I arrived, John chided me that he wanted to see me have more than three flights this week. I obliged him by having five flights. My launch runs and landings were both much improved over last week. This week's video starts with John showing the way it's done, followed by two of his students, and finally my fifth and final flight of the day.

Was quite a good day at Taylors. I had 5 students and Walt Melo passed his H2! Congratulations. He is eager to fly the mountains with his F4-170 and hopefully I will get to take him in the near future. All my students were flying very good and if the weather and their schedule co-operates, we will have a few more H2's in the next couple of months.

Hi guys
I am of course very excited. I had a lot of fun these last months, made new friends, and enjoy being out doing so much exercises. My special thanks to Jesse, John, Andrew, and Greg for their help in my essay. Of course, MANY THANKS for the instructor of the year for helping me realize this dream! I am looking forward to this new phase. Please keep me in the loop!
