Hey

I was "JR's buddy" mentioned in the previous post. I had a great time getting to fly the Pulpit for the first time and getting to meet some of you guys. Looking forward to flying with you guys more, and at more new sites.

This flight pegged my funmeter. Not every great flight has to be the result of getting high. It was a treat to be able to fly all the way to the south end of the valley practically tip to tip with Matthew and usually not more than 100' over. A very memorable flight.

Another successful fly-in! Well, kind of... at least there was some flying. And even though there were a lot of sleds, everyone still made the primary. No one had to use the secondary.

It was fun sticking to the ridge for a few minutes - which turned out to be 12:47, Matthew! Thank you very much! :) That one spot was the only spot on the ridge that was working just a little bit. I knew because there were 4 turkey vultures hovering above me the whole time not leaving that spot either. Of course, they stayed up - I had to go land. But I swear I saw them flapping when I would look away!

The fireworks were the best yet. If you weren't there, you seriously missed out!!!

Fun time around the campfire, good to see some familiar faces and also nice to meet a few new people including Brad and a couple of students John brought after teaching class.
