Pulpit Thursday 8/16

Post by sailin »

Looks like the Pulpit could work tomorrow if you are up for some mid-week flying. Bacil and I are planning to be there around 2pm.

Assuming the forecast still looks good in the am, I'm headed up, early, arriving by 10. Call me if you want an update then: (808) 779-5759.

There could be as many as 6-7 PGs headed there tomorrow...

The forecast looks pretty sweet! Fly far!

For anyone new to the Pulpit, please be sure to drive extremely slow in the LZ. We've had complaints from the land owner recently.

*Jon, not John. I had a great day in addition to my small extendo on Sunday at the Pulpit. Two flights today -- basically sled rides to the secondary, not really blowing much down there so it was just practicing approaches and set-ups. The weather turned out a little bit different than expected, but I still had a great time. The paragliders were the only folks getting real ups today -- congrats to them. Huge thanks to Basil for observing today! It was a great learning experience -- and great to get two more flights under my belt.
Cheers to all.

The day definitely didn't turnout the way I was thinking based on the forecast, very very very light.....with tiny little farts of lift spaced out. But still a fun day to be flying the mountains. Kudos to the PGers for putting the time in doing laps up and down the mountain. Looked like it finally paid off late in the day. Thanks to Bacil for launch assistance and driving my car down!! Chris and Krista welcome back to some east coast flying....hope to fly with you guys again soon.

My evening flight was a 2h +25miler with for me the first time flying to the Cowans Gap State Park and back. Winds were moderate West with thermals at multiple places. It was kind of easy all the way back and fourth. We should try this more often.
(landed at the fair at Mcconnellsburg but did not get a price  )
