GoPro's product page
Note that the camera's firmware has to be updated to support the wi-fi remote.
I haven't had any luck finding a source of firmware files (like this one) that would allow me to update to the latest firmware without using GoPro's CineForm software. So I took a quick look at GoPro's product update video, reformatting the SD card as suggested. Then I : a) disconected my GoPro; b) fired up CineForm; c) reconnected the GoPro. The software detected that a firmware update was needed for the camera, and prompted if it was ok to install.
I did so, things went fine, exited CineForm. Disconnected my GoPro, took a few test photos/vids, and then reconnected. After browsing to the MISC directory, I found that the version.txt file now contains:
And from GoPro's announcement about the update:"firmware version":"HD2.08.12.124.WIFI.R33.00"
Current Firmware: 8.12.124
Release Date: 6/4/2012
Changes: Wi-Fi compatibility
So after this, your camera should be ready for the Wi-Fi Backpac & remote!
Note that there is another firmware update which is supposed to be released this summer, that provides 'ProTune' features. But there's no release date yet.
