World Soaring Competition in Uvalde, Texas...

Post by Danny Brotto »

This may be of interest for those curious about sailplane competitions. The World Soaring Competition is being held in Uvalde Texas over the upcoming next few weeks. Over 100 top-level competitors from 24 countries will be flying long triangle courses in the hot, stinking, desert :) I am crewing for Baude Litt, a local Belgium national who qualified as a representative for the Belgium team. I stated a Blog/Web-site to keep interested folks updated with photos and reports about the comp and also specifically about the Belgium team efforts. If you are interested check out http://www.simplesite.com/34wgc. The daily updates will start when I arrive early next week so check back often.

Very cool! BTW--do you know Jeff Reynolds? He summers up here in Maine doing sailplane rides.
