Tom and Jeff think it's too windy and not quite the right direction to fly Daniels or Dickeys and perhaps too gusty for PG at Taylor Hill too. John Middleton is heading to Taylor Hill with 7 hang gliding students including me. I'm looking forward to some exercise in the air!

Good crowd at Taylor Hill today and plenty of wind to make things interesting! I arrived at noon and it was already really gusty and switching more than 90 degrees SW to S. I started at the bottom of the hill and worked my way halfway up and took a few PG flights in before it became too difficult to hold the wing down with the C lines. We slowly started hang lessons on the ground in between lulls with Mark C flying off the top and over our heads. By 4 the gusts had calmed down enough and it got pretty sweet. We all took turns from various points on the hill. I took 5 flights from halfway up and had a sweet one to end the day. Ben kited and flew his paraglider all afternoon. By 6 it was blowing really strong again for at least 30 minutes and then it calmed down and would have been paraglideable for another hour, but we were spent. We ended the day on the outdoor patio at Brock's with beer, pasta, and seafood!
