Looks like a good day: 700 fpm avg lift, 7k top of lift. Problem is I don't know if anyone else is going. Please post up or call if you're interested or I'm going to work! ;(

I got to launch about 11am to find beautiful skies and a steady 5-10mph breeze blowing in. Set up, dropped the glider flat, and then met Daniel in the bridge field to drop my car and get a ride up. Thanks Daniel! Back up top, I got ready to launch. Some strong cycles had been rolling through every 5 minutes or so and winds were a bit switchy, but velocity on launch was pretty light. I picked up and set down a couple times until I found a cycle I liked and had a good launch right into an elevator. Got up easily but met a strong headwind aloft. Worried about getting pinned, I came back down and played on the finger until increasing headwind there scared me into landing early. It was a long glide to the bridge field. Flight time: 25 minutes. Short flight, but exciting and it was a really beautiful spring day!

Called Daniel to find he had a broken glider part and couldn't fly. Bummer! :( I packed up and headed out to get back to Arlington for a commitment. Passed Joe on the road and updated him on the situation. I'm interested to know if he flew.

Cold but beautiful day. Got there about two just as Daniel was putting his glider back on his car. He helped me carry my stuff to launch then we left my car at the bridge field. Thanks Daniel for helping me and for waiting to help with the launch. I got off a little after three in a light cycle but went right up. Air was turbulent all the way up with punchy lift. I headed to Strasburg thinking I could over fly it today as there were cloud streets and relatively good lift. But I got focused on taking pictures of my house over Strasburg and could not find a thermal to get back up. Landed along the river by the High School soccer field. Too many people in the soccer field to attempt a landing there. About an hour flight and 3200 over. Twas a geezer day.
