Hi All,
just a quick follow up regarding locating the owners of parcels near High Rock launch. The Washington County parcel maps are available online at washco gis. Looks like the parcels near launch are owned by MD DNR and Washington County Commissioners, but I don't know exactly what land you had in mind for the PG launch. I also highlighted Emma Jane's parcel for those interested in exploring actions to secure the LZ long term. Once you're on the site you can locate the parcels via the 10-digit number in the info image. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
Regards,
Niels

Niels,
That is very awesome! Can you compile a list of names and phone numbers for property owners, and send it to me? It might also be worth having contact info for owners of the nearby fields. The folks at Hyner were able to partner with the Nature Conservancy to purchase and conserve a field that would be usable as an LZ

Re: High Rock Parcel Map
It appears the parcel we're interested in (acct: 2214011617) is owned by Maryland DNR. That could be good news.
I think I've found why we've had trouble determining the landowner in the past. The land is listed as parcel 292, but the map calls it parcel 282.
So, can we convince the DNR in Annapolis (c/o Land & Property Management E-3) that a PG launch at High Rock is in the public's interest? Didn't "Outdoors Maryland" have a segment of HGers at HR? And isn't that program produced in cooperation with MD DNR?

The MDAT website is down right now, I'll take another look at it next week to see how much contact info they provide.
