Sunday - 15th NW

Anyone interested in trying for an early flight at Woodstock or the Pulpit on Sunday morning? Eta 9:30am? It looks to back off in the afternoon.

I am in....... will be coming from work. I will have my newly aquirred Pulse 11meter with me and so I am looking at Smithsburg for either the morning or afternoon part of the day. Hoping to fly the Sport2 in the mountains (either Pulpit or High Rock...haven't looked at the forecast in about 24 hours....I'm slacking) and the Pulse 11meter at Smithsburg.

Hi all,

If you are still going, I'd be in. I need an observer as always, Matthew you are right ? If you can do car-pooling from Takoma I would meet you there anytime.
Thanks !

Will check in the morning when I get off work and see who is doing what. I am leaning towards just heading to Smithsburg........and getting some flights in on my new Pulse........hoping the excercise of walking back up the hill might keep me warm

Smithsburg is a training hill-- no Observer needed. High Rock is HG only.

Some PGers are heading to Woodstock.

Will check forecast in the morning and go from there... no need to hurry, however, to get out there when it's freezing.

I'm going to head out and give Smithsburg a look-see. To be honest it doesn't even really look like a nice Smithsburg day....lots of north in it. Hopefully I'll be able to at least set the Pulse up and get a run or two in. ETA noonish...........Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Great to meet you Jon. Your pulse is absolutes beautiful! You flew it very well with great landings, that is one sweet glider. Your Sport 2 is going to get jealous. Very nice day overall, and not uncomfortable at all.

Great to meet you too Charley, really enjoyed chatting with you..... nice flying! Hope to fly with you again soon.

I thought the day was going to be miserably cold and have too much of the north component in the cycles....but I was wrong on both accounts. As Charley mentioned it was quite bearable out there...even when not carrying the glider up the hill. The abundant sunshine and fairly light breeze had a lot to do with that. Although the velocity was pretty light and there was a north cross at times, there was an abundance of nice, launchable, straight in cycles that Charley and I took advantage of. Smithsburg produced another good one......what a fun place to fly.

Oh yeah...............

The Pulse 11 meter was SSCCCHHHWWWWEEEEEETTTTT!!! Can't wait to fly it more!!!
