spray lubricants - which work best

Post by huddlec »

I was talking to someone at Highland a couple of weekends ago (Dave P?) and whoever it was was saying that another pilot had a great spray (I think) lubricant (not a silicon type) that works really well on hard-to-pull VG issues.? Does anyone have something they recommend?

spray lubricants - which work best

Christy,

After working in industrial maintenance for 12 years I can tell you
there is no better lubricant than Kroil. You can get it in liquid or
aerosol form. It says it will penetrate to 1 millionth of an inch. Also
it is not alcohol based so it doesn't evaporate over time. It is made by
Kano labs. I know one place to order it is through Midway USA, a
shooting supply online site.

Chris,

That took almost 24 hours. Are you OK?

Dave

On Topic Message:

I don't have a VG (but I have though of tying some string to the corner
of my control frame just to see if anyone notices) but I use SailKote
(sp?) on my battens, the outrigger axles and inside surfaces of my
wheels and it works great. I don't know if it would work for your
application.
