Daniels Saturday Nov 12?

Looks like tomorrow might be blown out at Woodstock, but Saturday is forecasted to be warm and sunny SW-SSW. How about Daniels?

Current 'casts are SW@10-15G25 today, and G30 on Sunday...

Thinking of giving it a try at Daniels today, given that the winds aloft are predicted to be SW, rather than WSW or W. But I'm not as tuned-in to that site as others. What are people thinking?

I'm heading to Taylor farm now. John Middleton will have a class there today. If you get a group together going to Daniels, give me a call and I'll consider coming over.

Passed the test and got my H-3 yesterday.

Well..... I guess I'm going to bail on Daniel's. The surface 'cast seems ok, but there's a blob of 30-40 flirting with the CHO area on the 3k forecast map. If the site were closer I'd probably be willing to gamble. Randy W mentioned that he might swing by around 3pm, but it's just an hour, door-to-launch, for him.

PS: Kicking myself for not at least giving Daniels a try today.... Went out for a hike,
winds were completely non-threatening north of Rockville MD. Might have been ok
for flying after all, maybe we'll hear from someone who gave it a go....

Daniels was trashy most of the day with huge blasts from the west but it calmed down a little after 4. Had a nice flight although short because the sun was going down. It was even PGable

PS. Meant to mention this. Climbing up after dark in pitch black. Found out you can use your phone screen as a sort of flashlight. Can keep you from breaking an ankle.
