It's looking better for Bill's-- East 5-10 and sunny. Leave by 5 to make HR party.
Anyone else joining us there?

I'll be at the HR party and perhaps at Bill's too. Anybody want to car pool to Bill's from HR LZ?

I'm picking up the grill from Gary tonight. Anyone have charcoal? No word on fire pit or fire wood. I guess we'll warm ourselves by the grill!

Got a slew of P2s and one H2 coming to Bill's on Saturday-- Daniel Broxterman will be there too.
Come and join the fun.

Great day at Bill's. Tons of pilots-- both PG and HG. I had an extendo early and then got 2 hours and 1500 over on second flight. I was scraping the trees heading south on the second flight, barely maintaining. Matt Ingram and Lazlo were already up about 100 over launch at the time. I figured that if I didn't get up, I'd just land out. I mostly hoped that I'd find big lift where the ridge dips just before the turnpike. My guess worked out and I was able to fly across the turnpike-- climbing the whole way. Tom Cunen. joined me to the south--- and then Lazlo. Matt landed and flew again-- we boated around together as Karen, Christa and Judy from Gettysburg took second and third flights. Other PGers included Ellis, John the Bearhunter, Daniel Broxterman, Jim Kaplan, Ben Brooks, Erik and Alex, Vuk (sp) and Cyrus (sp).
Hgers included Danny Brotto, Carlos, John Anderson, David Bodner, David Churchill, a few guys form Kittyhawk and new H2 Mathew Young.
Finished the day at High Rock Party enjoying the campfire and playing Frisbee in the dark.

Ditto to the great day at Bills! Yesterday was my first soaring flight there. I didn't expect it to turn on like it did! Matthew's prognostication was pretty accurate. I managed an hour on my second flight - thanks to Carlos and Vuk's wife for getting us back up to launch while conditions were sweet.
Thanks to Gary for providing the grill for the High Rock party! That thing is sweet! We cooked hotdogs and veggie burgers and I even warmed up a slice of pizza! Thanks to others for building the campfire! Everyone contributed something and made the party a success. We even collected some money for Emma Jane.

We left Emma Jane with a mismatched 6-pack of beer, a mismatched box of leftover pizza, and $160. I'll leave to y'all to guess which was most appreciated.
Dan Broxterman was heading to Jack's this morning, Mark Cavanaugh was considering, and I decided to go back early to spend time with Jodie. She was apparently hoping I'd stay away longer, as she had turned the house upside-down in my absence. With all the furniture moved around, I'll have to keep my eyes open for a while.

Was sorry not to be able to join for the High Rock party, but glad all enjoyed. Back on Bill's Hill... Matthew had it right that there was a cast of dozens, and that some sort of magic air finally arrived to make our day. Pasted below, my post on the PG chat-line...
True, the PGs outclassed the HGs yesterday at Bill's. My own bonewing flight was a nano- phenomenon, but then later the site started to work. Nice gaggle of PGs on top, and when I launched my PG, even I got ca 25 minutes on the ridge and briefly maybe 200 over. Gotta get my bag working more often! A treat at the end was to see the virtuosos-- Tom (and was it Laszlo?, and then someone else)-- top-land. I had told an accompanying chum that it was indeed possible, and then we got back to the top in time for the schoolbook demonstration!
