Halloween at Crestline and Marshall Calif.

Post by Dan T »

I got to fly both Crestline and Marshall today. They are two sites inside the city limits of San Bernardino Calif. I got about 30 minutes at Crestline, the higher site, then nearly an hour later in the day at Marshall. My vario died last week. I was pretty pleased to be able to hang out as long as I did without it.

You can see the Marshall launch from Crestline. The LZ is a slightly sloped uphill upwind groomed grassy field that is about as big as the Woodstock LZ, with no trees around it!

This is a great group of guys and they have a terrific arrangement for getting to the long turn around launch sites.

By the way it was about 85 degrees on launch and shirt sleeve flying.

PS, sorry I'm going to miss the High Rock Fly In. I hope it's a terrific time for you all.

I flew this site last summer several times. One of the best site overall in the west.
