There is a couple of Ellenvile, NY pilots that are staying in a hotel in Woodstock tonight....they flew Woodstock with us today. They are hoping to meet up with some local pilots to fly somewhere tomorrow.......High Rock????....Pulpit???....Woodstock????.
If someone is planning on flying could you please extend some of our southern hospitality and link up with the Ellenville guys and get them squared away.

Although the surface cast is only NW 5-10, the 3k forecast still looks fairly strong, starting N then switching NW by early afternoon. Supposed to be stronger in PA, enough to give me pause about High Rock or The Pulpit. I'll take a look at things tomorrow morning. Maybe another Woodstock day, could it be???
Although it's not looking like a classic WStock type of day, the "gusts to 20" in the NWS surface forecast and the strength of the ADDS 3k forecast for Pulpit/High Rock has me thinking that Woodstock might be the place today....
I had to give it a try today..... Four days of soaring at Woodstock, in hugely varying conditions. Coulda been five I suppose, if I'd bailed outta work on Monday. At least eight hours of total airtime. No miles, bummer, but conditions just didn't cooperate. Well, ok, I suppose I coulda gone somewhere today from the resevoir, where I found wave to 3800' over. It was completely fun and non-threatening : Not a cloud in the sky, parked facing NNW, a little bit of drift backwards as I got higher, but nothing to worry about. Butter smooth. Very cool! Probably should have looked for more after I topped out, rather than trying to continue to Signal Knob (unsuccessful; strong headwind, and increasingly rowdy as I got lower). When am I gonna learn?
Bryon, instructor working out of Ellenville, and Bruce, a recent student, met me in the LZ this morning, where they kindly gave me a ride up to the top. They both had great flights, and Bruce got to enjoy his second soaring flight (yesterday was his first). John McA also stopped by and had a great flight. Then a wave of about seven PGers flew later in the day. Still soarable up top well after sunset.
I can honestly say that I've had enough airtime for a while. Lots of video, can't wait to put something together that conveys the past few days.
Driving to work at 11A yesterday in Rockville the lone cloud in the sky was a wave cloud that was stretched across many miles. Mark ya shoulda turned left and tried to see how far the wave went to the WSW. It might have stretched across the valley, enabling you to land out at North Mountain Vineyards and Winery without too much trouble . Bacil
