Cleaning out a house and have five, thats right 5, hanggliders stowed neatly packed in their canvas socks (22' long+/-). Make offer over $100 for each complete Kite (Hangglider you know what I mean) I know sails and my cursory look tells me these are older but not "beaters", kite fabric feels like it has not seen a lot of sun, not frayed. I know nothing about HG but I know sails and rigging and these seems to be complete SS hardware tubing etc. give me a call

Brings up a good point: how does one dispose of old HG? It's almost like they should be treated like biological waste because if some knucklehead gets hold of one carnage may ensue. I hope someone goes to look them over and at least let the seller know that he should stress taking lessons to anyone who buys one and leave contact information.

I wrote him, imploring him not to sell a HG to a person who isn't qualified to own one.

Anyone: Following up on this thread... The gentleman was not sure what he had, other than 5 gliders, but I was close enough to where he'd hauled them to take a look. Well, I was ready to consider something "old" and intermediate (a PacAir M-IV, but smaller than my current 19; a Pulse?; an older WW Sport; other??) since I could possibly be "rightsizing" while I decide what to buy longer-term. Whadda dreamer! These were, all 5, ancient standard rogallos (of the late 70's, early 80's?), with massive squares and crossbar bolted to keel, flat battens (x 4!), etc, even way more ancient than the Raven I first trained on! Still, if there is a collector (museum curator?) out there, a couple of UP's that I saw unfurled and laid flat (although not set up) looked like they were in quite good condition, the sails, cables, tubery, and all... though one would want to look more closely than I did. Anwyay, seemed the gent had been chastened (by Dan?) against just selling to anyone. But... at the likely price, maybe somebody knows of a vintage glider collector... or if not, there is alot of aluminum tubery there for building a massive jungle gym or something. --John

I left him a message also. There are many aviation museums that don't have any hang gliders. Doubt they would pay but might be a good direction. Probably more $$ could be had at the metal scrapyard.
