If the hurricane stays far enough off the coast then Saturday could be a spectacular Bill's Hill Day!!!!!! The slot needs a lot of work. So keep watching the weather and if it still looks good, plan to get there early and bring your implemnts of destruction-- loppers, weed wackers, the club weed wacker, all the parts this time Ellis , machetes, saws, etc. If everyone puts in about 45 minutes of work on the slot, we'll make it safe for everyone to launch.

Re: Bill's Hill Saturday
True, the possible soup from oncoming hurricane is the issue, but if weather bids to hold fair thru the mid-PM I will plan to join at Bill's, and be there early-ish. Sadly, I have hardly been around NOVA/MD/PA this summer and the few times I have been, no flyable wind vectors (or at least not velocities for me). No chainsaws or power whackers, but will bring something to chop weeds & small scrub. Jeez, Yuengling is my brew, so doubly sorry I cannot join a CHGPA fest on Thurs. --John

Re: Bill's Hill Saturday
Notwithstanding my earlier vow to show up at Bill' on Saturday, I send regrets. Actually we were there TODAY, Friday. And all flew (sort of, comments on PG forum) except for Jim Kaplan, who disdained the prospects, but was a Great Guy to make sure the rest of us plummeted safely to earth.
Not going tomorrow because I do think it might get the excess windies I saw projected, am beginning to believe this stuff about Irene and a maybe messy return after mid-day, and also doubt that anyone else is going (to Bill's at least). Jon Brantley advised nix, he is going sailing on Chesapeake. For my part, it is NOT because I am shirking the work party! See comment I posted on PGline, in response to Ellis's exhortations.
"Ellis, we did take tweezers and nailclippers, and I want you to know that the PGers carved me a wee HG slot, or otherwise I would not have reached take-off with all the hanging vines and lunging venus flyer-traps on launch. That place is going to need more attention."
Yes, we should get back there soon.
