Ellis, Petr and I flew paragliders at Woodstock on Sunday, after all the weather passed by. Ellis worked hard to got a 50 minute flight, Petr encountered some strong magic air. I had two long extendos. Ellis had an encounter with an aggressive bull in the main lz. She reported diving over the gate to get away from him. The bridge field is in corn. Thought this might be important information if you intend to fly hg.

yeah... i wouldn't advise landing HG (or PG for that matter) at the main WS LZ right now. Unless you can land right near the gate and dive over it - ala rodeo clown. How you would retrieve your HG, I don't know. I was in harness when I dove over the gate (not taking the time to open it properly), leaving my wing on the other side. Fortunately the bull didn't trample it, but was happy that I had left his field and was eying me carefully as I slowly pulled my wing to safety. Also if it's hot, the cows tend to hang out in the shade, where you won't see them from the air. And they have lots of little calves, which might explain the bull's behavior. (mommies weren't too happy with me being there either, while the calves were very curious)

I also don't know if you would get out of the field unscathed if you landed in the middle of it. I had fortunately landed relatively close to the gate.

Thanks for the bull info Ellis. Probably best to not land in the main LZ until the calves get a little older or they move the bull out.
