Highland Friday July 15,,,

Post by Danny Brotto »

.. Dr. Jack has the peninsula looking stunning for a flying day this Friday with light NW winds, 500 ft/min thermals, 6K CB and lift poissible to 8K. NOAA is a wee bit less optimistic so I'm going to go with Dr. Jack' call :D

Planning on a mid morning arrival.

I may join

I won't make any predictions of going thermonuclear. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Last Sunday was proof.

There is only one way find out

I'll make the prediction. I guarantee it WILL be thermonuclear. Dewpoint still pretty low at 61 degrees. High in the mid to upper 80's. Cloudbase stinkin' high. Enjoy. Bacil

Fun day....... Took a couple nicely extended flights with small climbs. Worked on trying to crank and bank in tight thermals.......a little progress but more work needed

There were nice clouds all around us just not always within reach........the wind started cranking toward the middle of the afternoon, both on the ground and aloft.......which would have made chasing thermals too far downwind the potential start of an unplanned xc flight. Good day to be out flying and nice to hang out and chat with other pilots.
