CHGPA 2011 Cinco De Mayo Party

Post by davidtheamazing1 »

CHGPA 2011 Cinco De Mayo Party
Thursday, May 5 - 7:00pm

Gary Devan's house
6538 Marlo Drive
Falls Church, Virginia

CHGPA will be Kicking off Spring Flying season at our Cinco-De Mayo Party! This year, Gary has graciously offered to open their home in Falls Church, VA for the festivities.

We'll order pizza, but please bring your best tequila, Mexican beers and margarita mixes to share.

All are welcome to attend, especially new pilots and new club members! This will be an excellent opportunity to meet pilots, learn about sites, talk with HG/PG Observers, and make some friends. Kids are welcome too!

We will discuss club business for just a few minutes as we prepare for our upcoming Pulpit Fly-in, Parachute Clinic, and Summer activities.

Sorry to add to the chorus of "Sorry, couldn't make it".... But I was wrapped up until 7:30, couldn't get the heck outta the darn place! If someone could post a summary of the topics (the Fly-In; repairs to the road for the High Rock LZ; etc) which we can help out with, that would be most appreciated.

Fun Cinco de Mayo party at Gary's! Margarita's, Mexican beer, pizza, and cowboy hats! Thanks again for hosting Gary!

The Pulpit Fly-in
David pointed out that we have a club webpage for it! http://chgpa.org/HGFest/hgfest.html
We'll organize who's bringing what through Facebook and the thread on this forum.

Repack Clinic
We have enough people committed to cover costs. We should probably collect money before the event to lock people in, but haven't coordinated that. I'm willing to help out and will follow-up with Carlos.
There are a few items on Betty's list we still need to obtain. Peter Humes will post what remains so we can coordinate.

High Rock Road
Matthew and Gary mentioned the road has been fixed several times in the past and it may be time to hire someone to fix it. Gary volunteered to take the lead. Next step is to get an estimate.

nice as it is to do a more permanent fix, with the pulpit fly-in coming up shouldn't a work party have headed down this weekend to do a temporary fix? Might be flying at High Rock this weekend. Just sayin', should have said it earlier I guess.

Matt and David,
Thanks for representing the BOD on the meeting. I have no excuse I took the day off to go fly.

Matt for the parachute repack I'll contact you directly.
