For the next CHGPA meeting, the board might want to put road maintenance on the agenda.
The storm two weeks ago washed out the last leg of the road in two places. The top portion of that leg is still passable in a vehicle with good clearance, but the bottom would be risky. So, at this point, you can't get a car or truck into the LZ.
Another heavy rain and Coffee Pot Lane might face the same fate; it is also getting pretty rough.
Here's a picture, hopefully, looking up the road from the LZ .

Re: Road to Emma Jane's Field
I hope more than an update comes out of this. I would think at the meeting tonight a work party would be planned for this weekend. In the past we found gravel in the low areas on either side of the road, plus the gravel that washed out must still be there: conservation of mass. All it needs is shovels, wheelbarrows, and that old club spirit.

Seriously, I'd say cancel/postpone flying plans anywhere else to get that road fixed. After a morning's work you can always go somewhere else to fly, but make sure Emma Jane feels loved and remembered, and the Fly-in may be there the week after.
