Looks like Jon and I will be heading to Highland tomorrow... Aiming to get there early.

Anyone else?

The forecast just keeps getting worse...

East, cloudy, little instability. Ugh.

Mountain biking or indoor climbing anyone?

I'm heading to Highland as well - not promising for soaring, from what I can tell, but timing and conditions just haven't worked for me lately and I need to get in the air, even if it is a sled ride!

There was a nice turn out at Ridgely. I arrived at 11, right behind Jon and Amy - and there were already a few people flying. At one point there were about ten gliders set up including me, Jon and Amy, Carlos, Joe and SteveK, Greg Sessa, John Middleton and another couple. There were several tandems ongoing as well. Everyone got at least a flight or two. I was loading up to leave about 2:30pm when a few scattered raindrops started, and John was the last to land - and the only one to get a few drops while flying, I think. No soaring for anyone - but nice to get in the air - and to see the fresh green fields. And I was pleased with my landings - so it was a great day!

Great to see all the pilots out at Ridgley today!!! Despite no sun and thermals I think everybody had a pretty good time. No soaring to be found but I had a great flight on the Sport 2....what a awesome glider!!! Felt it towed and flew beautifully. Can't wait to fly it more! Amy and I were considering spending the night and flying tomorrow morning but the forecast kept looking worse and worse with wind and rain so we bailed and headed home.
Big thanks to Sunny, Adam and the rest of the crew out at Highland.....you guys do a great job!!

I too had a great day today.... pretty tired so I will keep it short :-)

Got one flight in, set up a good approach, and nailed it :-) If I can get a dozen more flights like this at the park, then I know I will be ready for the mountain LZ's!!

Hope you all had a nice weekend... goodnight!

Amy,
Glad to hear about the good flight!
Jon,
That's great stepping up to the S2!
Valerie,
Welcome back from boring snowboarding!
I'm making progress, expect to move back to MD at the end of this week.
