I'd like to fly somewhere Saturday, mountains or training hill. Anyone else interested? Early AM maybe?

Great! I'll probably head to Smithsburg in the morning and then meet you there.

I plan on flying somewhere on Saturday too; however, this morning's forecast looks pretty NNW. I may try Highland or the Sac if the forecast doesn't change.

The forecast looks uncertain to me. Perhapsa little strong for Highland but too north for the Pulpit. Still thinking the Sac or Highland might be most logical. The surface casts are consistent (pretty much) but the isobar forcast shows less wind and more north than NW but very light. I will keep thinking about it. Any other thoughts?

Maybe High Rock would work today with light NNW. Would be a good time to do some work on the ramp and see EJ too.

Just a thought.

tough day to call. Sac, or HIgh Rock, or Highland. I think it is going to be a bit too windy on the eastern shore to hang around. I think it will be flyable, but you will have to go XC. Forecast is too marginal to make the drive to the SAC.
I am going to head for High Rock. Haven't seen EJ in too long either.

High Rock. Cast of thousands....ok...cast of ...well...Daniel, Jerry Hines, steve, and me. Jerry chose to watch first Daniel, then me, and finally Steve take our sleds like men...or at our best impression of such. First flight sine september. Even a sled felt great. Got to see Emma Jane, which is always good. Been too long for me.
Maybe Highland tomorrow.

The Sac was working today. I believe everyone soared. the clouds were drying up by the time I launched at 1:15 and winds looked west cross, but not too bad. I had to struggle below or at ridge height for 45 minutes before getting up as there was little ridge lift and the thermals felt strong but blown apart. The day remained difficult, but you could stay up once you got up. I had 3:30 and 3000 over. Pete also had a nice evening flight as it went magic. Overall a fun, challenging thermal day at the Sac. Arrrived home right about midnight.

From the Hyner list:

North winds at the Sac today made for a lot a grins. Times of multiple hours and gains to, I believe I heard Jesse say 3600' over were had today. Launches started by 1pm and Pete was still in the air when we drove off and that was around 7pm. There were a few ankle biters early that turned into column elevators to the cold then evening magic to finish the day off. Thanks Natalie, Joe and Karen for the help on launch and congratulations to Mark for his first flight at the Sac.
