Warm sunny day at Ridgely-- they did a few tandems-- including a couple of mile highers. Steve K., Paul (new pilot in training and cranking out the solos) his wife Sandra, also in training, and some dude who is on the worlds were also there-- surprisingly light turnout for such a nice day. Karen did not fly due to having knee surgery on Friday. I had the FOD with 28 minutes climbing out to 2450 from a weak link beak at 1300'. The birds helped find a couple of other thermals. Could've stayed up longer if I went XC-- the drift from the South was pretty strong. Chris H showed up later just to hang out. We threaded the needle between thunderstorms on the way home and kept my glider dry.

Sounds like it was a nice day over there!!! Jon and I went to Taylors- and will be going back there tomorrow for some training hill fun. Will post about that later :-)

But, more importantly, how is Karen doing? I did not know that she was having knee surgery... was this planned or unexpected? I hope she is doing well- please send her my well wishes! Thanks!

It was planned-- actually it was planned for two weeks ago and then got canceled last minute. She has a torn meniscus that has been plaguing her for over a decade.

Yeah, it was fun seeing some of the gang.

I, on the other hand, decided to do some storm chasing afterward. Some really nice lightning, PLENTY of rain, and some nice-sized hail 8-). Huge clouds!
O Weather! How awesome you are.

Happy Easter~
