Some PGers are beating the drums for Saint Patty's day. I will observe Ann on HG. Light SW in the afternoon.

Re: Daniel's Thursday 17 March
Hey Hugh,
Why not try the Pulpit (PGers too)? Due west until 4 or 5P (WSW then). Not too strong. Easy access to launch. Bar right next door. What's not to like?

Yep, then it's not as big a deal if I get a flat tire, knock on wood ... maybe he just doesn't like me
Plan to be there around noon. Hope the road up to launch isn't too muddy...

Re: Daniel's Thursday 17 March
Unexpected soaring day at Daniels! Laszlo, David o'neil, and myself got about 2 hours each. I got about 800 over. We landed near sunset and David drove us halfway up.
Re: Daniel's Thursday 17 March
Thanks again Hugh for observing me! Had a good sled. Plenty of light thermal activity, made one pass by launch. Just didn't trust the ridge lift. Should have waited for a stronger cycle. Had enough altitude heading out to land, but Lots of sink near LZ, and at one point I was floating strait down with little forward movement, but made it to LZ with a base and final on my feet into the wind. Boy it's nice to land on the top of the hill without that big sticker bush there! Hugh had a nice soaring flight also! Thanks Dan T. for your help breaking down

Re: Daniel's Thursday 17 March
Waiting for the right cycle seemed important. It was fairly buoyant toward the end of the day, but there were a couple of cycles that had me below launch fighting to get back up.
I gotta say thanks again for destroying that sticker bush. How hard was it to remove?

Re: Daniel's Thursday 17 March
You're welcome! I used a big pair of loppers, cutting as close to the ground as I could. I stacked the cut stickers on a rope, wrapped the rope around the pile and dragged the sticker piles to the fence line. Took a good three hours.
