3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
Looks like a great weekend is shaping up. Upper 40's and NW flow. I would think that Woodstock Tower Road is open. I'm flying somewhere for sure on Sunday, and maybe a late PM flight on Saturday. Bacil
Re: 3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
I'm interested in Friday or Saturday.
Re: 3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
I am in for one day, provided the forecast holds. Right now, it looks like Woodstock on Sunday.

At the risk of jinxing it, the weekend is looking good. Count me in!

Saturday is starting to look pretty good at Woodstock. Straight West all day at 10-15mph
Yall who are betting on Sunday might get snowed out. Come out Saturday instead!

Another forecast has SW going on on Saturday. You don't want to be at Woodstock with any WSW going on. I've done it and it isn't too pleasant. Bacil
Re: 3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
Looking at the latest hourly predictions I've got half a mind now to try the Pulpit Sunday versus Woodstock. Yes it will be strong at the Pulpit from 11A to 5P. Looks like Woodstock will be light initially then should turn on in the early afternoon. Since we get another hour for flying by springing forward tomorrow night, take your pick. Some potential visitors from the Hyner Club may only want to drive as far south as the Pulpit, so I may end up meeting them there. Should be great at both sites. Bacil

If it's light at WS and strong at Mcconnelsburg then it will likely be perfect at High Rock.

Count me in for flying tomorrow! I'll check the weather and forum posts in the morning to decide on location.

Weather looks promising to me. I think the forecast favors Woodstock, but will check in the morning.

My vote is for Woodstock … but will follow the consensus.

Re: 3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
I am planning on flying at the mountains on Sunday. My guess is the Pulpit will be blow out until late in the day and Woodstock will be OK though not strong. Will see in the morning.

Headed to Pulpit early to help out and then hopeful for a late day flight.

Heading to Woodstock unless the forecast backs down A LOT!
Pulpit text forecast is gusts to 30 and there's a small craft advisory on the bay for Sunday.

I posted in the other thread, but figured it couldn't hurt to post here too.
I'll probably be able to make it out after work, ETA 5-5:30pm. We'll have an extra hour of day light

Re: 3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
Hmmm.... Add me to the list of those on the fence about the best site for tomorrow.
The cold front is already about 1/2-way through PA, and the winds aloft are predicted to drop quickly
in northern VA (though filling in again a bit later in the day). That might argue for getting to Woodstock
early, while there's still some good post-frontal NW flow.
OTOH, if things really do move through quickly overnight, then that might argue for The Pulpit.
The high gust factor that's predicted might not materialize.
Or: High Rock??
In any case, I just put the glider on the truck, and misc batteries are charging. Hopefully we'll
have a good day _somewhere_ !

After checking the forecasts, the Pulpit is the best site for me. Should be there early ~9:30.

Re: 3/12 - 3/13 Weekend
Given that the front has only just pushed through northern VA, and given that the 4am NWS cast is calling for mostly cloudy at the Pulpit.... Woodstock it is! ETA of about 11:30. Call if you want to coordinate on dropping vehicles in the LZ.

On the road to the pulpit and close to launch. All flags are showing W at approx 10 mph (no signs that it will be blown out)
