Valentines Week Flying

So, I'm looking towards next week and trying to pick a sweet day to take work off (If I can just pick one :( ). What kind of business are we looking at for the next few days out? I'm gonna take a stab and say the warm weather for next week is associated with a low pressure system arriving = NOT W or NW.
Maybe Tuesday would be best??

Tuesday may be a good day for first flight at Woodstock (if road open): high temp 49 (will be a little cooler at launch), WNW-NW between 6-8mph. It is cool enough that air will be denser, so don't need to worry too much about lighter winds.

Wednesday, If the forecast holds (high 55, winds SW 8-10), and I can find an observer, I'd like to go to Daniels Mtn..

Know it's early, but Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, are all looking good for Daniels Mt. Any observers free during the week?

Spent sometime at the Pulpit yesterday afternoon trying not to get blown over while standing sideways to the 40+ mph air racing up the pad. Like last Sunday, I had to crawl on all fours up the ice sheet to get to the pad and then inch my way back down to the setup area, sliding on my back and using my heels as brakes. Needless to say, little or no thawing at launch has occurred during the past week and my guess is that its going to take at least 2 to 3 days of near 50 degree temps in the valley for thawing conditions at launch to eliminate the ice problem and that’s not going to happen by this Tuesday. I'm going to wait and see what next weekend brings.

yeah, some interesting ideas. Woodstock is really neat; I was up there Saturday with Mark and Gary. Though for a first mountain flight, I'd say conditions would have to be pretty ideal at a place like that. Not out of the question, but some of the other sites might fit a little better. With THAT said, it is looking NW and 10-15 in the morning and getting lighter throughout the day til 4PM with a light ~2mph NW wind.

Looks like High Rock at this point. Unless things change on monday, I'll be out there Tuesday in the AM onward with Rich Hayes. I'll shoot out a message tomorrow.

Cancel that for me :(. Rich won't be able to make it out till the weekend. I still have the day off if someone wants to go flying; I can watch/ help.
Other than that, I'm going back to the forecasts to see whats up for the weekend.
Happy Valentines Day, folks.
