And are you revealing the whereabouts to those of us who are geographically challenged? At what hour would you like the first Viking-clad revellers to break down your door? - Hugh

Hi everyone!
Thank you Gary, for graciously offering to host the festivities. This is a pot-luck, so please bring a main dish, side dish, or dessert to share.
All are welcome to attend, especially new pilots and new club members! This will be an excellent opportunity to meet pilots, learn about sites, talk with HG/PG Observers, and make some friends. Kids are welcome too!
The only club business to attend to is nominations for the CHGPA Board.
Please RSVP here or on Facebook with what you are going to bring!

and i would like to extend a personal invitation to all the expatriates* out there. i'm sure space and places of accommodation can be found for any and all out-of-towners who will be welcomed, feted, celebrated and toasted (i.e. i'll buy you a beer).
Brian? Shawn? Mark and Sheila? Janni? JR? Mr.Hays? Bacil?(Pa.?) Mr. Shad? Mr. Batman? Mr. Kinsley?(do you live here or california?) Mr.Savell?(are you still lurking out there?) Mr. Brotto? Mr.Eddy Miller? who else? how 'bout them Pierces?
heck, if Mr. Pete Lehman or Mr. Dennis Pagen showed up we'd probably even let them in the door. and oh what the hell, we'd probably even welcome Christy (hey Christy, how you doin'? it's christmas. i'll even give you a big hug)
Mick Jagger might show but said he couldn't be sure just yet.

Eileen said she'd take care of the lasagna this time.

and, oh, i'll probably open the bar early. personally, i think it's best to go ahead and get one's, "hic", buzz on early so one is more likely to be legal by the time one needs to be behind the wheel.

let's see. tunes. 'got the CD player and should have a dock thingamajimmy for an ipod by then. 'got one(ipod) probably six months ago and it's still in the case. hey, bring cds or mp3s (though ipod isn't actually mp3 format is it?) and we can burn and swap.
Dan, you seem to have music on the mind from time to time - maybe a mixed, uhm, tape, cd, mp3, r2d2, 3cpo, whatever .
and how about "mr. been there, done that, got those, have these and know that" (Hugh)(is my envy showing? yeah? 'thought so. oh well. ) you appear to have a place in your heart for music and broad tastes as well. otherwise it'll just be blues all evening long.
video stuff? got the dvd player and actually have a vcr(!). i've got a tape of me and christy on the training hills - that ought to be good for a few laughs! 'better show up christy, otherwise it's just my side of the stories that people will hear.
markC said he has a vcr tape of the mpt piece about high rock.
how about hooking up a computer to the tv and playing peoples' collections from the net? that can be done can't it? someone else other than me would have to set that up, cables and such.
i figure that if there would be enough visual and aural distractions prepared, i might not even have to vacuum!

With all that Mister stuff I thought you were channelling Mick introducing members of the band and backup musicians at a concert (seen the "Shine a Light" movie? kinda blows the idea that they are too old outta the water - Keith gets up off his knees about a dozen times - try that a few times...)

.
okay, this is what i've ascertained to date:
-there's going to be a party/meeting.
-it's going to be held this friday - tomorrow.
-it's going to be at the home of eileen and gary devan.
-it's 'formal' start had arbitrarily(?) been set at 7:00 pm. however we will be opening the doors and welcoming guests @ 6:00 pm. please don't be shy about showing up then.
-something about elections and a meeting that, to my way of thinking, could be adjourned by tapping spoon to glass, asking for an "aye/nay" vote and take about ten minutes - without anyone ever having to set down their drink.
-there are seven people coming.
-there will be a pan of lasagna, a salad, a side dish, mixed greens and three deserts.
-CHGPA will provide "plenty of drink".
-hugh has a thing for keith richards.
so,i've a few questions:
-what drinks - what kind of drinks - sodas, beer, booze, mixers?
-we will supply necessary plates, napkins, cups etc. unless there is supply of such floating around out there that might show up.
and, oh, mick said he won't be able to make it. something about an early bed time or beauty sleep or something. i think he may be nearly as old as hugh.
gary
seriously, i could use some information (the wife, she gets hung up on these kind of things)

but hey, if you show up unannounced ('not really looking for rsvps or head counts), late and empty handed - we'll stick food and drink in your hand and not throw you out 'til the next morning (no breakfast).

Sorry Gary - we haven't RSVP'd, I guess. Matthew & I are coming and probably bringing a friend. Usually lots of people end up showing up even though they might not have said they were coming.

Sallie and I are coming. She said something about a cake. If it were just me, I would come early and start imbibing, but Sallie has a nasty habit of working late - this has never been a problem for me - I find it unfathomable (unfashionable, too)...

Thanks for the kind offer of putting us up but....it turns out we're not going to be able to make it. Leigh had already made plans and was unaware of this event. This time of year gets so crazy. December needs to be longer or something. LOL. Sorry and thanks! Next time!

Problem is, the dratted CHGPAers start heading home around 10:30, which is about the earliest I may make it on short notice (just read this). If you guys would just stay up all night like MHGA (and be an hour further north) I might think about it.
Right now I have a date with shawn mcduff to stay at his place friday so we can work on my ailing car before the Hyner party on saturday. But I'm tempted to try a twofer if you southerners would quit acting like a bunch of old farts and stay up till dawn.

sorry to hear you can't make it rich.
hey, you shaved your beard didn't hugh you? (sorry couldn't resist that) can't you use that for leverage? uhm, we've got a puppy - only enticement i can think of. how are you at pouting? whining? maybe groveling? hey i'll grovel if that would do it for her.
by all accounts, flying with eagles seems to be an everyday affair. this is a special group of turkeys, brian. hope dullahan makes it or i won't have anyone to argue with. so why don't you go ahead and drag your butt down here. maybe if you were to commit to coming we could get some others to hang on til you get here.
'forgot to designate a "life of the party". matthew might be able to handle that one - he seems to have a bit of the devil in him. (smiley face withheld out of respect, oh obstinate one).
all those veggie things sound tasty.
i noticed that i'd adjourned the meeting even before it would have been called to order - that would be a short meeting wouldn't it.
