Awesome Hugh, Thank you. What time are you planning on arriving? I actually have had the privaledge to fly the Pulpit once already and would absolutely love to fly it again on Sunday if given the chance
I think there's a steep mountain near Woodstock, VA that's soarable in the lightest of wind, say 8 to 12 MPH. Forecast of NW winds at 10 MPH from 2P to 5P there tomorrow.
I'd really like to fly Woodstock today, to enjoy what fall colors remain down there!
The surface forecasts are pretty light though, not your typical WS call. One of the
3k forecasts shows building conditions aloft (good), but the direction also seems like
it could be more NNW than NW for much of the day.
AM Trail run in Frederick with the wife. *Planning* to swing by the rock after lunch. Sunday is my designated fly day, I am just trying to sneak in there today as well.
I've got the live album from a long-lost concert recording when they first publicly performed "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". Kinda like when Dylan first showed up with an electric band. Feelin' groovy...
Disclaimer: no psychotropic substances - other than caffeine - were involved in this post - or the impending flight(s). - Hugh
Is there a count for Woodstock? Looks like Jesse, Bacil, and Dan ... The call is light, but the direction looks just about perfect. I'm thinking Woodstock about 1:00.
okay, cool, we've got your bonafides…but WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO BE AT LAUNCH? gawd.

and yeah, yeah, we got it - flying is a *natural* high.but WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO BE AT LAUNCH?
uhm, is there still going to be anyone going to high rock? 'cause, i'm sorry hugh, but it'll be too cold with too little action and let's face it - you're just not than damn pretty for me to want to spend all day with you at high rock under those circumstances. i'm going to pull back a bit til i see how things are going to play.

'hope i didn't hurt his feelings. but that's probably not an easy thing to do - the guys too damn chipper for his own good.
