High Rock or Pulpit for Monday
On my way back from Hyner on Monday morning, I am thinking of stopping by High Rock or the Pulpit around 1:30. Forecast for Hagerstown is 260 degrees at 8 mph. Anyone interested in either? (202) 409-2574 c.

Stopped by the Pulpit on the way back from Hyner around 12:45 and expecting to see a little cross from the left but it was more cross from the right!. Pretty calm in the valley but blowing 12+ at launch. Watched for a little while and it started ramping up some when Dave Bodner stopped by on motorcycle and offered to help. This was about 1:45 and probably was 14 - 16 mph and even though soarable I chose to not setup thinking it might get a little stronger and we didn't want to get back late. More than likely would have flown if others were there.

That's interesting John. Pete Schumann and I flew Dickey Ridge. It was a nice day with lots of ups and downs and a bald eagle. However, it was south cross the whole day at Dickey Ridge.

Sniffing for the saiplane regionals, from 2K AGL release thermaled in ratty 1 knot lift over Emmitsburg to about 3K MSL. Flew the rotor to 3.5K MSL transitioning to wave achieving 7K MSL. Bailed due to heavy traffic into Dulles to scout for any upwind wave on 2 attempts only to have gravity win. Two hours. Wave was fairly local . About 10 of the 30+ contestants connected but not enough thermal lift to get the 50 mile minimun task in; no contest day.
Should have been ridge soarable at HR.
