Pulpit, 10/2/10

Post by Ward Odenwald »

Thermal forecast (mid-day) is looking good with light westerly winds. I’ll be there around 11.

Tomorrow’s forecast for the Pulpit has deteriorated (now showing calm to light north winds). I’m going to Ridgely unless there’s a better idea.

Well Ward, a number of us were at Ridgely and flew and soared a bit but where were you??? In attendance were Carlos, Joe G, Steven K, Christian, me, Jon & Amy, Dale, and a few others. Atleast the first 5 of us got a little time.

I got my first introduction to Ridgely today and loved it! Sonny and Adam were great, as were all the other pilots out there as well. I got two flights in with the last one being into a beautiful sunset over the Chesapeake Bay! Thanks to John Middleton for letting me use one of is varios. Can't wait to go back again soon and try to find some thermals :)

Where's Ridgely? It is the same as Highland?

Yup. Highland Aerosports (www.aerosports.net) in Ridgely MD - eastern shore. If you want to go, best hurry - they close sometime in November until March. But winter is THE foot-launch training season, so don't think you have to put the toys away until spring. We get plenty of 50-degree days. - Hugh

I have only tandem aerotowed, never solo. I guess I would have to take some aerotowing lessons to fly there... ?

Again the answer is -- Yes.

We've had a lot of Hang 2 mountain flying lately-- come on out and enjoy the fun.
