Saturday 9/19 & Three Year Compilation

Post by chuckok »

Sorry I couldn't make the Fly-in this weekend ... I'm spending what time I can @ BlueSky trying to get final sign-off on my Hang 3 ... got the hours and passed the written test ... just need consistent landing observation.

Despite twitchy winds and a strong inversion at about three grand, I did manage 1,800’ off of a 600’ save to make a 20 min. extendo. Most of the guys got flushed, but Tony managed to hang in there for a little while, and one of the new pilots (can’t remember his name, maybe Paul?) got the flight of the day.

Here’s the video …

For fun, here’s a compilation of the past three years’ flying. Gotta give it to Steve Wendt (H1, H2, Scooter & Platform Tow), John Middleton (Foot Launch, First Mountain Flight, and Observing), and Matthew Gram (Observing), Tony Dilisio (cold weather training, carpooling, etc.), and everyone else who’s helped wire crew, shuttle along the way. Thanks for the help and support!

Safe flying!

Nice job! That was the first truck tow I've seen and it looks pretty easy/fun. I really liked the video of Woodstock...that place is gorgeous. The Pulpit launch looks intimidating on video probably because the rocks look closer than they are. The launches I witnessed at the Pulpit this weekend made it look easy.

Congrats on your journey to H3!
