Several PG pilots showed up at the Pulpit on Sat. Conditions were light and generally contained some North cross. However there was some thermal activity out front. The good thermal pilots managed to get up and stay up, while the rest of us had sleds or extendos. I had one of each and still enjoyed the day. When I got back to launch after the second flight at 7:00 PM the fan had turned on as I suspected it might. Not real strong but very steady and still containing a little north cross.
I am not sure it would have been ridge soarable then but it was close. I'm pretty sure most of the aggressive HG thermal pilots in our club could have soared earlier in the day. The key was to hook the first one and stay tight in it.
