Blue Sky/Sat 31

Post by RichH »

Sat is looking by the forecast to be the better of the 2 days..With the ground surface winds forecasted to be light 5-10 from the NE. Thermal forecast is looking good in the 500+ range. Towing should be ok if the wind direction is NE should allow for some decent tow heights if the wind doesn't go too East..Cloudbase is predicted to be in the 6000' range..Check in Sat morning I will update if this changes...Rich

What a difference a day makes!! The forecast has changed and its anybodys guess as to what we may end up looking at for Sat and or Sunday..It appears the front that was going to give us NE winds tomorrow moved further than expected..It now appears we may get some cloudiness on either day..Really to difficult right now to call ..but Thermal forecast has been downgraded as I had thought to 400 or so ..It might end up ok if the clouds hold off to the south..Check the forecast in the morning ..I'm holding off on my decision till then..Wind forecast right now is saying ssw .check the wind forecast in the morning...Hope it works out for us..

Heard it actually turned out for a few pilots on saturday @ Blue Sky ..Only have a report that 2 pilots soared for nearly 2 hrs each on a somewhat high overcast day but there were still cumies popping off below the overcast..Don't have more than that to report but it does look like it worked out for a few pilots..RH
