Just a heads-up that flying is to be had at Highland today. I've done a bunch
of patterns and one full, to knock the rust off. Winds are a little bit strong,
but are forecast to back off. Come on out if you aren't in the mtns!

Re: Highland : Sat July 03
Pretty wild day! I pulled off a semi-low save from 700', riding that thermal to 4700.
Told myself that if I hit 5k, then I would have to head downwind. Couple of thermals
later.... Damn! I'm at 5k.
So once made, I stuck with my decision, and wound up a bit short of South Bowers
Beach. Would have loved to put it down in the sand, and I *did* have a decent thermal
down low.... But I was just too beat up to work it effectively. Rich came out to pick
me up, and then everyone had fun back at the park: carry-out from Delisio's, some
fireworks to preview tomorrow's big show, a great sunset... Life is good!

PS: Pilots today included Christian, Joe Gregor, Carlos, Luis, John Claytor,
Ric Niehaus, and Bob. Decent turnout, with lots of tandems and students.
PPS: If you can make it for Sunday's fireworks, I guarantee that you won't be
disappointed. Adam & Lance have outdone themselves, it will be quite a night!
