Flying on 6/26

The thermal index looks pretty good for Ridgely and too hot for training hill lessons. I am thinking of giving it a try. Any other takers?

Which website do you use to find the thermal index?

I'll be at Highland early Sunday for a couple tows to knock the rust off, pick up my repacked parachute, and depart for home about noon to beat the heat and the Baybridge traffic.Maybe a late day flight at the Pulpit if anybody is there. RichB

Turned out pretty nice at Highland Saturday. Not as many pilots as I expected. John M, Carlos, Kirk, Steve K, and a couple of others. Launched around 1pm, found a nice one to 4700, played at cloudbase and came down by choice around 2:30. Life is good.

Highland has a really sweet new swimming pool so remember to pack a bathing suit when you come out.

Turned out fairly good for me and got a little over 2:00 in cool, refreshing air. Lift was mostly light but some thermals were decent. Had a low save at 800 thanks to Sunny and the tandem that I spotted nearby going up and a sort of low save at 1200 heading back to park from a North trip. Highest I got was 4300 but Dave and Steve K said they got higher. Periods of sink at times and timing was a major factor in your success!
