Highland Friday

Post by Matthew »

Great day at Highland on Friday.

I had three flights 1:20, :25 and 1:10. Got to base numerous times on first flight-- 4800'. Found base again on last flight-- even higher at 5100'-- started that climb from 800'. Karen had two flights topping out at 3900 and 4600. The female side was also represented by Valerie--- who had a couple of soaring flights-- and, of course by Joe Gregor :)

Tom McGoawn flew for 4:30, landed due the call of nature, and went back up for another hour. We all agree he has sold his soul to the devil. Dave, from Pa, Daniel Broxterman, Christian, new H2 Travis and a few Ridgely Regulars also flew. Soctt and Ayesah also made an appearance. And our friend Ben did two tandems-- one from the bottom.

Hi There,

I'm new here :D and I was wondering where Highland is... I didn't see it listed on the Site Index. Is it an H-2 friendly site?

Thanks,
Ann

Hi Ann,

Highland Aerosports is an aerotow flight-park on the Eastern Shore of MD, about 1:20 from the DC area.
Great operation, with Sunny and Adam usually doing the tandems/instruction, Zac piloting the Dragonflys,
and Kristin, Barbara, and Bruce herding we unruly pilots through the flight-line and into the air. Might be a
bit of a haul from your location, but you might want to keep them in mind for a long weekend/fly-in/etc.

Oh, and did I mention the fact that XCs to the beach are possible from Highland? Pretty darn cool!

Cheers,

MarkC
