John , sorry if this has been brought up before but have we approached the owner to see if we could lease or compensate him for keeping a portion of the landing area open? just enough area at the bottom for landings..just curious..Rich

According to Eddie, he thought you had and had the impresson that the land owner wasn't willing. I would be willing to partially compensate the land owner for loss of revenue if he allowed us to use part of his field. Eddie also said that now it is planted with hay and was up 6" or more though I find that hard to believe.

Several years ago I personally spoke with the owner to see if we could lease an area suitable for launching, flying and landing. He seemed to entertain the idea but when I gave him a rough estimate of the amount of area we'd actually need, he seemed less interested. Thats not to say it should'nt be revisted, but....I think it shortens up his field too much and unless we really came to the table with some serious cash......I honestly doubt it will happen.
