Have you been good?

Post by Lauren Tjaden »

What: Flying Reindeer Games
When: Sat,. Dec. 19, 2009
Where: Quest Air Hang Gliding

What’s that in the sky with a red nose?

It might be Rudolph – or even Santa himself -- gliding into the sky above Quest Air Hang Gliding Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 during the first annual Flying Reindeer Games Fly-in.

This family-friendly event will feature:

• Santa appearing from the skies. Have you been good? Check out Santa’s landing skills and whisper your wishes to him when he arrives at Quest by air at 2 p.m.
• Get high and give back. Your friends or family will want to see what your air-addiction is all about with a Tandem Discovery Flight – and they can feel good about it, too! Quest will donate 20% of all proceeds of tandems flown at the Flying Reindeer Games to Habitat for Humanity.
• Contribute a can. Quest will be collecting canned food to donate to needy area families.
• Informal Flying Contests. Do you have what it takes to climb to the top of the thermal? Duration contests, small XC tasks and spot landing contests will be offered depending on the weather and pilots’ wishes.
• Lunch. Who says there’s no free lunch? It’s not filet minion, but the wieners, chips and sodas will be on Quest.
• Toss-the-Teddy. This contest will reward the pilot with the most accurate aim. Whoever tosses their toy closest to the target – from a hang glider, of course -- wins.
• Prizes. Besides having a good time, you could win a fabulous T-shirt, vintage video -- or even a bumper sticker!
• Raffle. If you’re feeling lucky, you’ll want to take a chance on one of our December offerings.
• Pizza Party. Feed your face; crack a cold one; swap and embellish stories about the day’s soaring.

Can’t make it for The Flying Reindeer Games? Don’t get your sail in a twist. We’ll be hosting a series of informal fly-ins the third Saturday of every month from Oct 2009 – March 2010 – providing the perfect excuse for pilots to escape to the Sunshine State this winter. You need to rectify that, Mr. Lehmann. Why don't you come on down to dreaded Florida?
