Right now Saturday is looking like the better day-- probably Woodstock. I'm a HG and PG Observer-- send me a PM.

Will re-check in the morning. Friday 9 pm forecast still calls for gust to 30+ for Saturday for most of the area and gusts to 30 through Sat. morning for Woodstock. And then quickly turning SW!!!!

Ugh! I hate these kind of forecasts!!!

It might be good for the big air guys. But we're bailing. Saturday morning forecast for WS is gusts to 35 in the morning. Charlottesville is calling for an increasing forecast!!! Most everywhere else is callng for gusts to 30. It will probably back down by 4pm--- yet sunset is around 4:40.

Maybe tomorrow.

I am going to give it a try but will not get to LZ until 1:00 - 1:30. Hopefully it will be doable. (202) 409-2574 c.

Weird day. I got there at 11:00 and it was already way cross from the left and it was barely trickling in. Yes, I said barely trickling in. Every ten minutes or so it would straighten up and puff in lightly for about 10 seconds, then go cross again. Some more of the faithful showed up (Tony, Krzysztof, and Randy) and we debated even setting up. I figured, what the hey, and started settng up. Then John M got there with Hang-2's Greg and Chuck and conditions began to improve a little. I launched at about 2:30 into 5 or 6 mph and never got more than 100' over the mountain. It was turbulent with some shots of strong lift in the 1000fpm range. On the ridge the cross was strong W, close to WSW. Scratched around for about 30 minutes and then got scraped off. The wind in the LZ was SW and swinging further South while I was on final but I pulled off a crabbing side-step landing. Whew! Thanks to Greg for the ride back up to my car. Video later....

Too light?????

I was worried about the SW cross. But too light???

So, did anyone else fly? Did the twos get in the air?

All those that were there and setup got to fly including Dan, Tony D., Randy, Greg Sessa, Chuck O'keeffe, and me. We were getting light straight in cycles 2-6 mph. Other than Dan, everyone else basically got sleds with the left cross.

Light conditions, but at least everyone got to fly. For me, it was a short and bumpy flight. See attached video.

Thanks John for observing Chuck and I for the day!

I wondered about the choice of camera angle at first, but then I see you got video proof of sticking the landing. 8)
