Leftovers Saturday morning?
May make a stab at an early Pulpit run, if there are good indications of some NW leftovers before it goes due north. Bacil

Bill's Sunday????
Or it could be Bill's on Sunday-- ADDS now predicts due east at 10.

The forecast is starting to look a little better for tomorrow. I'll check again in the morning (and tonight) but for now I plan to be at the Pulpit early.
Hope to see lots of pilots!

Re: Leftovers Saturday morning?
I have to be back in the DC area by 4-ish, so will be up and out and on the road
pretty early tomorrow. Looks like either High Rock or Pulpit will be the call, with
the big question being which gets more sun ("mostly cloudy" NWS 'cast for The Pulpit
and "mostly sunny" for High Rock, at least at the moment).
If anyone wants to rendezvous in the LZ or debate conditions, give me a call!

Headed to the Pulpit!
Re: Leftovers Saturday morning?
We're weaseling out--- looks too North and too cloudy by mid-day--- and we're not the best at getting out early :0
Hoping for Bill's Sunday afternoon.

Re: Leftovers Saturday morning?
There were leftovers at the Pulpit midday. Got there to a cloudy sky at 10A. Mark C. arrived 10 minutes later. It was blowing in pretty straight, the max being 8 to 12 MPH. Cumies were forming under the overcast. We set up and waited for a third. Dan Tuckwiller arrived after 11A. It picked up after 12 noon, to 10 to 15 MPH at times, so Mark led the charge from the old ramp just as Carlos and Luis arrived. Mark got up midway between launch and Rt. 16. I launched shortly thereafter and got up to 200' over in the same area. Mark disappeared and I thought he had gone OTB, but he topped out at 500' over behind the ridge in a light thermal. I maxed out at 300' over before I got flushed down by Rt. 16 after 20 minutes aloft. Boated around the main LZ, using the smoke from a wood stove across from the golf course as a reliable wind indicator. The direction was WNW to NW in the LZ. Had a nice landing in the main. Dan landed 5 minutes after I did, getting flushed as well. Then Mark eventually got flushed after another 5 minutes or so. As we were loading up to head up to launch, Luis landed in the main after a sledder. Carlos launched and got an extendo. We met in the bar for some beer and chow before hitting the road just before 5P.
