Pet Rescue of Maryland

Ellis has put in a lot of work trying to get the cat situation in control at Emma Jane's. We have two cats that Ellis rescued, and a lot of you have contributed dollars and time to her effort.

Pet Rescue of Maryland is a whole organization of people doing what Ellis did. They're not a shelter but a network of foster homes that cares for cats and dogs until permanent homes can be found. Their adoption policies are kind of strict; they require a home visit for each adoption. All this takes money, of course.

A Baltimore area motorcycle club, Semites on Bikes, has put together a 2010 calendar to raise funds for Pet Rescue of Maryland. One of Emma Jane's cats, whom I've named Howard, is featured as Mr. January, along with a DC-area hang glider pilot. Buy a calendar for yourself. Buy one for a friend. It's a sure way to embarrass him or her.
